Martha added to her collection of Emmy Awards this week with help from her best friend, Snoop Dogg.
NBCUniversal’s Olympic Games Paris 2024 coverage came out on top at the 46th Annual Sports Emmy Awards with 10 wins, including Outstanding Live Special – Championship Event. Martha and Snoop Dogg memorably served as commentators for NBC during an equestrian team dressage event.
The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences presented the Sports Emmy Awards, which was held at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Frederick P. Rose Hall on Tuesday in New York City.
On Instagram, Martha posted a photo of her and Snoop behind the scenes in full equestrian attire from last year’s Olympics, writing, “@snoopdogg and I won a coveted Emmy award today for our work with @nbcuniversal last summer during the sports reporting of the Olympics. We are thrilled and honored!!!”
The duo attended the equestrian team dressage event at the Château de Versailles during the Olympics, visiting with the horses and learning more about horse dancing for a segment on NBC.
Before the Olympics, Snoop Dogg confessed his fear of horses, but with the help of Martha, he gained an appreciation for the animals. “I gave him a stall in my stable—he’s going to put a horse in there, aren’t you, Snoop?” Martha said after the event. “Yes, I am. I’m gonna buy me a horse and put it in there,” he replied.
In 2017, Martha and Snoop Dogg were also nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality-Competition Program for their Vh1 series Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party.
